Blood processing and usage planning
According to Dr. Sumaiyya Khan, Blood Transfusion Officer of the District Hospital, the collected blood can be safely stored and used for 42 days. Plasma, platelets and PCV will be separated from this blood and supplied to the needy on time. This stock will be used not only for critical patients in the district but also across the state. Therefore, this camp has become an effective health measure.
Example of social responsibility
Ajit Jagtap, President of the All India Mobile Retailers Association, expressed satisfaction over the response this year. “This camp is our fourth year, this year 2475 blood bags were collected from the city and 2621 from the rural areas. This is not just a statistic, but a symbol of solidarity and responsibility in the society,” he said. The participation shown by the citizens will definitely strengthen future health initiatives.
