Ahilyanagar : If the history of a great personality like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is included in just 68 words, it is not only academic neglect, but also a question mark on the cultural understanding of the entire country. As soon as this matter became clear, MLA Satyajit Tambe raised his voice in a strong voice in the Legislative Council and demanded that the future generation of students be given a true view of history.
MLA and representative of Nashik Graduate Constituency Satyajit Tambe submitted an eye-catching suggestion to the government on the last day of the monsoon session, raising the issue of why Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was mentioned in just 68 words in the CBSE curriculum. He clearly stated that this history is not limited to Maharashtra, but is inspiring for the entire country. Therefore, this insult is not only to Maharashtra, but to the culture of India.
Tambe also mentioned that now that the NCERT curriculum will be implemented in schools in Maharashtra on the lines of CBSE, such wrong things will reach the students in a wider form. If the place of Chhatrapati is being kept for only 68 words in a 2200-page history book, then it is truly shameful. He also demanded that the state government immediately follow up with the central government and include the history of Chhatrapati in detail and with respect.
Responding to this issue, Minister of State for School Education Pankaj Bhoyar agreed that the work of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Sambhaji Maharaj should be given a proper place in the curriculum. He also clarified that a visit to Delhi by School Education Minister Dada Bhuse was organized in this regard and a meeting was also held with Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The central government has given positive assurances in this regard and he assured that these changes will be implemented in the future.
This instruction letter given by Tambe was not limited to just one issue, but behind it was the desire to provide history, pride and proper information for future generations. Everyone has expressed hope that due to his initiative, the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj will reach students across the country. Now it will be important to see what steps the central government takes on this demand.
